The goal of our adult classes is to help you progress to a conversational level of Chinese and to get you reading and writing basic Chinese characters.

• Beginner Course
  Our introductory course is designed for people who have never studied Chinese or only a small amount of Chinese. The course focuses on: correct pronunciation of Chinese sounds and words, basic grammar structures and simple vocabulary (in English and Chinese) for topics such as introductions, numbers, telling time, shopping, and talking about work. Also covered: introduction to cultural differences.

• Intermediate Course
  This course builds on the language material covered as a beginner. The main objective is to help you use new vocabulary to build conversations around basic grammar structures. Teachers encourage students to practice speaking through conversation rather than repetition, express ideas with existing vocabulary (verbally and in writing), and pronounce sentences correctly as a whole. Cultural etiquette and context are covered in more detail.

• Intensive Course
  This course is designed for the student who wants to progress quickly through beginning and intermediate Chinese.

• Advanced Course
  We do not currently offer a course in advanced Chinese, but we can provide students interested in learning at an advanced level with a private tutor.
